The Preschool Teacher is charged with leading all aspects of the curriculum, instruction, family engagement, and classroom health and safety. In addition, the UPK and 3K Preschool teachers are expected to engage in ongoing learning to strengthen his/her understanding of child development, and the Lead Teacher is responsible for promoting the vision for quality early childhood services that anchor the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Incorporate developmentally appropriate and best practice strategies within the classroom to ensure a rich, meaningful curriculum and instruction
• Structure a learning environment that promotes child health, safety, and confidentiality
• Plan and lead classroom instruction that is developmentally appropriate and meets the needs of children
• Adhere to best practices as outlined through the Creative Curriculum, with a clear understanding of expected classroom routines, experiences, and learning centers. Actively interact with children, demonstrating patience and warmth in all interactions.
• Actively engage with families to ensure parents/caregivers are knowledgeable about the child's program.
• Implement a developmentally appropriate daily schedule, including the incorporation of transitions and age-appropriate opportunities
• Create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for students and staff that is conducive to learning

Qualifications for UPK - NYS Teaching Certification B-2 or Equivalent
Qualifications for 3K - BA in Early Childhood Education  and currently pursuing NYS Teacher Certification (B-2 or equivalent)
