Family Worker -Early Childhood Education Family Worker- Family Advocate- Human Services

Seeking Family Workers to oversee and direct programs for one of our many Clients’ Preschool Centers in Brooklyn, NY. Family Workers provide a range of culturally competent; family-centered services that support families participating in the program with healthy lifestyle goals to empower the perinatal and postpartum experience, parent-child relationship, family support systems, and community.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and submit all documentation within program guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in children’s files and setting goals with families.
  • Guide families in the development of Individual Family Support Plans (IFSP) based on the strengths and needs of the individual families.
  • Advocate for the client to receive the optimal health care available to them.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing outreach strategies to inform families and the community of programs and services.
  • Inform families of community resources, programs, and services.
  • Assists families in making appointments for health and human services.
  • Accompany families to apply for support services when necessary and desired.
  • Refer families to other support services in the community.
  • Attends orientation and ongoing training sessions to support work in maternal and child health.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Human Services or related field or Child Development Associate Credential.
  • Knowledge of Family Child Care preferred
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows application is required.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking required.

Pay Rate: $31K-35K
