Job Description:
Family Worker -Early Childhood Education Family Worker- Family Advocate- Human Services
Seeking Family Workers to oversee and direct programs for one of our many Clients’ Preschool Centers in Brooklyn, NY. Family Workers provide a range of culturally competent; family-centered services that support families participating in the program with healthy lifestyle goals to empower the perinatal and postpartum experience, parent-child relationship, family support systems, and community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and submit all documentation within program guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date records in children’s files and setting goals with families.
- Guide families in the development of Individual Family Support Plans (IFSP) based on the strengths and needs of the individual families.
- Advocate for the client to receive the optimal health care available to them.
- Develop and maintain ongoing outreach strategies to inform families and the community of programs and services.
- Inform families of community resources, programs, and services.
- Assists families in making appointments for health and human services.
- Accompany families to apply for support services when necessary and desired.
- Refer families to other support services in the community.
- Attends orientation and ongoing training sessions to support work in maternal and child health.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Human Services or related field or Child Development Associate Credential.
- Knowledge of Family Child Care preferred
- Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows application is required.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking required.
Pay Rate: $31K-35K
